The 2022 Calgary Stampede was a highly successful 10-day event. In fact, the 2022 event was the fourth-most attended event in the Stampede's more than 100-year history. That is, more than 1.2 million people went through the turnstiles.

Newsfile partnered in our second annual Calgary Stampede PR event with our friends at Olympia Trust Corporate and Shareholder Services. During this event at the Wildhorse tent, we hosted clients, law firm partners, corporate governance, investor relations, public relations partners and other business colleagues.
Considering it was a beautiful, sunny day with a positive and fun atmosphere, there was a lot of excitement to be back in person. Moreover, it was great to celebrate successes with the Newsfile distribution service.
Indeed, Newsfile and Olympia have enjoyed amazing growth over the past few years. Therefore, celebrating resilience and progress within Stampede atmosphere was a highlight for many. Most importantly, it was nice to connect and celebrate our teams and clients and celebrate with all attendees.

A Look at the Calgary Stampede Event
Most know of the Calgary Stampede as, “The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth.” Specifically, it comes complete with one of the world’s largest rodeos, chuckwagon races, parades, midway games and rides, stage shows, concerts and exhibitions.
In fact, it has grown into one of the world's richest rodeos, one of Canada's largest festivals, and a significant tourist attraction for the city.
The city takes on a party atmosphere during Stampede: office buildings and storefronts are painted in cowboy themes, residents don western wear, and events held at the Stampede and across the city include hundreds of pancake breakfasts and barbecues.
The 2022 Calgary Stampede parade marshal was Kevin Costner. Also, Mr. Costner and his band, Kevin Costner & Modern West, enjoyed a night of performing at the Big Four Roadhouse on the Stampede grounds.
Rodeo events include barrel racing, bull riding, tie-down roping, steer wrestling, saddle bronc and bare back.
Unquestionably, the Calgary Stampede Rodeo is one of the richest in the sport. To put it another way, the prize money of $1.5 million entices rodeo athletes from near and far.

Undoubtedly, the Calgary Stampede exemplifies a social and party atmosphere. In addition, the Stampede plays a very important role in business, public relations (pr), networking and client relations.
Actually, business and investment meetings take place extensively throughout the city during this time. Also, travel to Calgary for these meetings during Stampede occurs from all corners of the globe.
This year, corporate events and participation at the numerous event tents and venues were back to pre-pandemic sponsorship levels.
